Hello Board,
I thought it would be a good idea for me to give you a few statistics so you can make an informed decision about updating our campus with hologram technology. According to campustechnology.com Information Technology spending will increase 13 percent by 2012 and 64 percent of that new spending will be education spending. That number comes to 5.6 billion in new spending at universities like ours. I believe we can be on the cutting edge of that spending by investing in hologram technology. I have attached a graph to show that education spending is on the rise. We should not hesistate with this opportunity to invest and make our university the example of what is to come in education.

Letter to the Board to Approve Funding

Dear Board of Directors of Fake University,

I am writing you today to encourage you to vote for our recent attempt to acquire hologram technology and to incorporate it in ten of our lecture halls. I realize that the $2 million it will cost is a lot to ask of our alumni but I believe we could use this investment as leverage and make sufficient returns in the future that would pay our investors back with substantial interest. Right now all forms of entertainment are evolving to 3-d. The theaters will all soon be 3-D and the home televisions will all soon be 3-D. I challenge you as a board to approve this acquisition and get the funding because we could be one of the first universities to be on the cutting edge. This would increase application by double and would bring much national attention to our university. With this attention we could hold conferences that would bring additional revenue to us as well. I predict that we will make much more in tuition, and state funding for bringing this new technology to our state, than we pay out in acquiring this technology. I encourage you to step out and dream big for our university.

Dean Fake University,

Brian Cook

Hello students! This is your dean Brian Cook of Fake University. I am writing you today to inform you of a technological innovation that could ensure that you get the most qualified instruction in the world no matter what class level you are taking. This new technology could allow you to be in a lecture with the number one professor of Economics, Calculus, or Accounting who may live up to 14,000 miles away from you. With this new technology you would be able to interact and ask questions of a professor that may not even be in the same time zone. Your out of class instruction would be delegated to a teachers assistant as normal, but the in class experience would be cutting edge. This technology is holographic technology. Hologram technology is being deployed in many universities, according to www.isc.blog.fairport.org, and only costs around $200,000. Since you students pay such generous tuitions here at Fake University we should be able to update at least ten lecture halls with the hologram teleconference technology. This technology is changing the way Universities are teaching and soon will be changing the way we teach at Fake University. Look for the new technology and tuition hikes next semester. I have attached a couple of videos detailing the ability of hologram technology. Please enjoy.

Go Fakers!
